CENTER FOR

INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES

IN ECONOMICS, PSYCHOLOGY

AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

“He who does not expect will not find out the unexpected, for it is trackless and unexplored.”

Fragment 18, as quoted in The Art and Thought of Heraclitus: An Edition of the Fragments (1981) edited by Charles H. Kahn, p. 105

CISEPS is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Milano-Bicocca. The aim of the Center is to contribute to the advancement of social sciences through research focused on the improvement of the explanatory and predictive capabilities of the basic models in social sciences. Its members are scholars working in all fields that can contribute to the achievement of the above goals.

The Center aims to disseminate the output of its scientific research through seminars, workshops and conferences, also creating partnerships with other centers and institutions. Research activities are conducted in Research Units and also open to students of any level, both internal and external to the University of Milano-Bicocca, who can have direct research experiences through internships.

CISEPS has an independent management body, composed by a Scientific Director, an Executive Board (Scientific Committee), and an Advisory Board, who are responsible for the organization of the Center’s activities.
